An Angel in the City
When a troubled young woman shows up at Gail’s stylish office in Minnesota, the world Gail has built for herself immediately falls apart. She no longer can hide from her troubled past.
It was only twenty years earlier, in 1983, when Gail at 21, left rural North Carolina for NYC. Naïve and destitute, she ends up in the underbelly of the city, working at a place called the Red Leopard Lounge. Soon, she realizes things are not quite as they seem. Women around her are disappearing.
Frightened, Gail, without knowing where else to go, turns to her aunt, a woman steeped in Russian Mysticism. She hopes learning about her old family traditions will give her the wisdom and strength to combat what soon appears to be an international human-trafficking operation.
She is trapped; one wrong move may mean certain death.
Who can she trust? Will she be next?

All Monsters Are Human: An Unsettling Collection of Horror Stories - Volume I.
Behind every ghost story and creature feature lies a far more terrifying truth: the real monsters wear human faces. In this chilling debut from first-time author, Derrick Smith, ten twisted tales expose the darkest parts of the human soul. From killers hiding in plain sight to obsessions turned deadly, each story invites you to step into a shadowed world where morality unravels and the only thing more terrifying than what lurks in the dark…is who.
These aren’t just horror stories; they’re reflections of ourselves, showing what happens when fear, rage, guilt, and desire take control.

By Dr. Gregory Rogers
It is 1992 and the space shuttle program is having its busiest year to date. Another mission is planned for the orbiter Columbia to operate the Spacelab module for scientific investigations. Yet this will not be a routine operation at all.
Donna Kennedy will be only the second woman to command a shuttle crew. However, not everyone feels she is ready. This troubled mission will call upon her finest qualities as she navigates the events that will create the most difficult space venture since Apollo 13!
NASA management has been warned about the repeated damage to the Thermal Protection System that must withstand temperatures above 2,300 degrees Fahrenheit during the return to Earth through the atmosphere. The disregard of these warnings is going to cost a heavy price on this occasion.
It will be up to Donna Kennedy to save her spacecraft and crew in this distressed set of events that will challenge all she knows about spaceflight, control systems, and courage.
This novel was originally published in 1995, bringing another warning to the NASA management. Sadly, no changes were made in the subsequent years. Eight years later, the nation suffered a great tragedy when we lost the Columbia and her crew.
If only they had listened!
